This year the Festival celebrated it’s fourth edition, in which 12 dance ensembles took part, from Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Pomeranian Voivodeship and Kaliningrad Oblast.
Today (the 25th of May) at noon on Kazimierz Jagielończyk’s Square the 4th International Folklore Festival of Euroregion Baltic and Baltic Folk Fair took place, during which the city citizens’ had the occasion to meet with traditional arts and crafts.
The jury, which included Mariusz Wolski – head of The Song and Dance Ensemble “Dmosin” from Łódź, Dariusz Nawrocki – head of The Song and Dance Ensemble “Poltex” from Łódź and Wojciech Karpiński – a musician and a composer from Elbląg, was judging the choreography, the dancing technique and the artistic expression of songs and dances presented.
The results of the IVth International Folklore Festival:
Song Ensembles:the 1st place – “Słowianie” from Kaliningrad, the 2nd place – The Song and Dance Ensemble “JANTAR”, the 3rd place – “Rosynka” from Kaliningrad.
Folk Ensembles up to 15 years old: the 1st place – not awarded, the 2nd place – The Song and Dance Ensemble “Ziemia Elbląska”, the 3rd place – The Song and Dance Ensemble “Młody Elbląg” and The Song and Dance Ensemble “Łąg”.
Folk Ensembles over 15 years old: the 1st place – The Song and Dance Ensemble “JANTAR”,the 2nd place – The Song and Dance Ensemble “Ziemia Elbląska”. The jury has also given a distinction to the “Tęcza” ensemble from Szymanów.
Within the scope of the Baltic Folk Fair the public could acquaint themselves with the arts and crafts of artists coming from Poland and the Kaliningrad Oblast.
CKiWM “Światowid” and the “Jantar” association are the organizers of these events.
